Follow up to my random conversation

Me: So, how was your seminar yesterday?
Student: Oh, it was really good. You missed a lot.
Me: Damn. Maybe the next one.
Student: Yeah, I heard rumours that the next one's going to be in Hawaii.
Me: Nice. *thinking* I've got to stop doing this.

A Random Conversation:

I found myself in a very random conversation today.

Me: See you tomorrow, guys.
Student: We will?
Me: Uh, yeah
Student: So, you're going to the "Take Over the World" Seminar tomorrow too?
Me: Uh, actually, I think I'm going to miss this one. I gave it a lot of thought and realised taking over the world is really low on my list of priorities, so I thought I'd do something more productive with my time.
Student: That makes sense. I admire that, Miss.
Me: Thanks. Plus, I'm waiting for when they hold it somewhere really cool, like New York or something.
Student: Yeah, Belgium isn't that great.
Me: *thinking* how the hell did I get into this conversation?!

Random Wicked Question #42

When Galinda "Galindafied" Elphaba in Popular, and took off her glasses, did she get her contacts off-stage, or did she just let Elphaba ruin her eyesight?

And just how bad are Elphaba's eyes really? Because we never see the glasses again, and if she were wearing contacts, I know you have to change them so often and such, and I don't know if Elphaba would be able to get contact lenses on the run...

I've always just imagined them as like reading glasses that she wears a lot. Like, I don't think she's blind without them. Because otherwise, that's kinda mean of Galinda, especially if she didn't get contacts.

Thoughts?

I'm sorry. My mind wanders occasionally.

Apparition

One of the random parts of my Singapore trip was when I turned to Kelly and asked if she agreed that apparition (magical form of transport for those people who haven't read Harry Potter- although I don't know why that would be) would be uncomfortable for pregnant women.

Let me explain- we didn't sleep a lot on this trip. And when I'm tired, my mind wanders and I ask random questions. I've actually wondered that question before, but it was never spoken before.

Here's why I thought this:

In Half Blood Prince, when Harry apparates for the first time, he describes it as

"He was pressed very hard from all directions; he could not breathe, there were iron bands tightening around his chest; his eyeballs were being forced back into his head; his ear drums were being pushed deeper into his skull."
All in all, it's not a very comfortable experience. It's constantly described feeling as though "being forced through a tight rubber tube."

Now, I have never been pregnant. But I read, watch TV and movies and I know people who have been pregnant.
And I know that, especially towards the end, having a small person inside of you is also somewhat uncomfortable.

So, to combine the two experiences sounds again, uncomfortable. If I was a witch and pregnant, I'd be finding alternate modes of transportation.

But is that just me, or does it make sense?

Because I can't stop watching this...

So, I have no idea why I can't stop watching this.

It could have something to do with the cute guys, or it could be just that it looks like to do something like that would have been fun, and that they just seem like nice guys who don't mind being completely random on car trips.

Or that there's the one guy who slept through the whole thing.

So, naturally, I have to share immediately, haha.

10 Random Things about me

  1. I'm obsessed with Wicked (the musical) and Harry Potter.
  2. The toe next to my little toe is longer than my left foot than my right foot.
  3. I was right handed until I started school and my teacher thought I "looked more comfortable" writing with my left hand, so she switched me.
  4. I still cut and do some things right handed.
  5. I get cold really easily.
  6. I gave up counting how many times I've read the Harry Potter books in Yr 7 when the tally for Goblet of Fire got over 100.
  7. I have a diary but often forget to actually write in it- mostly because I hide it (as is kind of the point with diaries).
  8. I have about 5 key rings on one ring... and 2 keys.
  9. Until I was 18, I was never anyone's best friend.
  10. I'm a hoarder. I once found a box that contained school assignments from as far back as Year 3, and a Yr 11 Economics exam.
